"Come explore deep rest in this two hour Restorative yoga workshop.

My name is Samara Reynolds, I am a Restorative yoga enthusiast and instructor. I believe that in a world full of headlines, alarms, constant work, and chronic stress, the most radical thing we can do is slow down.

I found Restorative yoga after my initial 200hr Vinyasa training and once I experienced the deep stillness and comfort of Restorative poses, I never looked back. I became a student of Judith Hanson Lasater, got my level 1 Restorative Yoga certification, and currently work with her as a teaching assistant during her trainings, workshops, and retreats.

I have over a thousand hours of training in Restorative yoga, pranayama, yoga asana, meditation, yoga philosophy, nonviolent communication, anatomy, and kinesiology, it is through these practices and teachings that I have come to find my purpose which is to help others rest and find ease.

Restorative yoga is a style of yoga that uses props like bolsters, blankets, blocks, straps, sandbags, and more, to support the body and allow the mind to settle. The poses are deeply comfortable, you are covered with blankets, wrapped up, tucked in, and kept warm. Restorative yoga is not a practice of stretching, but one of opening and softening over the props, so while we hold the poses for several minutes, you are never tense or straining. During class I will walk you through the setup of each pose, show you where to put the props, and how to support your body and its needs in the moment. Once you’re in the pose I will watch the time and call you back when we’re ready for the next one. By practicing intentional rest we are allowing the nervous system to return to a state of balance, which for many of us in this busy world is so necessary, as we are stuck in a state of activation and stress. Restorative yoga allows us to return to a state of ease and calm, which supports health and the functions of the body as well as to give you a break from the noise of the world. This practice is a lovely support tool for folks struggling with tension, insomnia, and high levels of stress, it can help to lower blood pressure, support healthy hormone function, assist in recovery, and give people suffering from overwhelm a break.

Try Restorative yoga and see how it feels to rest deeply!"
